“ 100% recommend! I used to come here when I was a kid but for some reason forgot about it. My husband was craving crab so I suggested and I'm so happy I did. From the second we walked in we had such a great experience. The food was made perfectly, very fresh, good servings and not a bad price at all. My favorite part though is the service and just the overall feeling of being in the "shack". Dominic and Danielle are the best! ”
“ Crab Shack is a perfect little hole in the wall. I've driven past it for years and finally stopped yesterday. I was greeted with a big welcome and was seated right away. When I said it was my first time, the host introduced me as a first timer to the bartender, who was super helpful and explained a few items on the menu that were especially delicious. They also have some yummy sounding specials of the day during the week. I ordered a beer and the blue crab claws as an appetizer. It was a good sized portion, very fairly priced, and OMG, delicious!!! The bartender gave me time to enjoy the blue crab claws, then asked me if I wanted to order. I got the fried oyster appetizer as my meal, and they were good. Timing was perfect on the food. Understand that is is a super casual place, not fancy, rustic, some parts need updating/repair (restroom)... BUT the food and kind, helpful, pleasant employees make it well worth the visit. ”
“ 3.75 stars. There are plenty of customers when we visited at 4 pm. Very popular spot. We were lucky to get a table. We waited 2o minutes before we can order. The food comes out quick once order was put in. During the happy hour, the app is half price. We got calamari to start. It is just ok. The next app is the coconut shrimp. I like this dish. The entree are the blackened mahi sandwich. I like the blackened sauce with spicy blackened. We also got the scallops shrimp rice. The scallops is great. Service is a bit let down due the crowded restaurant. Other than that, all is good. ”
“ We were there during their happy hour and early bird special time. The whole place was packed. The inside and outside of the restaurant look rusty and vintage. But don't judge book by the cover. Their seafood is really good. My top favorite was the sauté scallop. They tasted fresh and with perfect texture. They definitely earned 5 star. The blacken mahi was a bit over fired. They left tiny bitter taste on the surface. The appetizers we had calamari and coconut shrimp. They were good. To serve the crowd, the service staff tried their best. Overall, it's a decent seafood place on Gandy , between Saint Pete and Tampa. ”
“ FOOD - is always consistently delicious. You really can't go wrong with anything you order. SERVICE - has always been pleasant and fast. This trip the service was AMAZING. A young woman who had such a passion and excitement to talk about menu items. She made our dinner much more enjoyable. AMBIANCE - we like to sit at a booth near the entrance...love the business of the bar and people watching. This place is one of our GO TO stops for yummy food and great service. ”
“ If you get a hankering for fried seafood this is the place to go I got the fisherman's platter the platter was very tasty the price was good for the amount of food that you get the beer was cold service is friendly it's a place where you can sit down and have a conversation with somebody at another table good atmosphere if you're going to do fried do it there especially to seafood the smoke mullet it was smoke but not season I didn't care for it but it is a very big piece ”
